Hi, my name is Tomi (she/her).

I am a LMFT Associate and LPC Associate in the State of Texas and am under the supervision of Brianne Blevins, LMFT-S, LPC-S, PMH-C.

I offer couples, family, and individual counseling for adults.

I apply a systemic and multicultural lens to work collaboratively with clients. My therapeutic approach often includes exploration of perspectives, meanings, intergenerational trauma, inner strengths, and the impact of our external world. I also bring curiosity, optimism, and a dash of humor to our sessions.

We often find comfort in small, unexpected places, like the crinkly leaf of a plush toy fox. The name “Fox Leaf Therapy” represents the desire for my therapy space to provide similar comfort and security for clients who may be navigating challenging moments.

A glimpse into who I am…

I was a military brat, raised mostly in Okinawa, Japan.

I grew up in a Japanese-American bicultural home.

I speak conversational Japanese.

I experienced infertility, assisted reproductive technology (namely IVF), and traumatic childbirth.

I have11 years of experience as a higher education administrator working with a diverse population of students.

I love to sing.

I am a serial hobby dabbler: ukulele, hula hooping, ice skating, woodworking, gardening, polymer clay, sewing/quilting, costume-making, and even coding.

I find joys in quality time with family, baking and cooking, playing video games and tabletop games, reading manga, floating in a pool, and snorkeling in tropical waters.
